 KVS FOUNDATION DAY CELEBRATION 2025

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) Foundation Day is celebrated every year on 15th December to commemorate the establishment of KVS in 1963. The day highlights the mission of KVS to provide quality, value-based education and promote national integration among students across India. The occasion inspires students to uphold the ideals of KVS and strive for academic excellence and responsible citizenship.On this day in PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Garhwa organizes various events like special assembly program having speech, song and dance with art exhibition in library.

The Annual Day Celebration, SPANDAN 2025, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and splendour at our school, showcasing the creativity, confidence, and cultural richness of the students. The programme aimed to highlight the holistic development of learners through art, music, dance, and drama. The celebration began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a warm welcome of the distinguished guests. The Principal presented the Annual Report, highlighting the school’s academic achievements, co-curricular excellence, and milestones attained during the session. The guests appreciated the efforts of the students and staff in maintaining high standards of education and discipline. A vibrant cultural programme captivated the audience, featuring classical and folk dances, group songs, skits, and thematic performances that conveyed messages of unity, environmental awareness, and social harmony. The students’ performances reflected dedication, teamwork, and artistic excellence. Special appreciation was given to the teachers and coordinators for their guidance and meticulous planning. The event also included the felicitation of meritorious students for their outstanding achievements in academics, sports, and co-curricular activities, motivating others to strive for excellence. SPANDAN 2025 concluded on a joyful note with a vote of thanks, leaving behind cherished memories and a renewed sense of pride in the school community. NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK

 

NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK 14 to 20 November

ILA (Indian Library Association) declared 14-20 November as National Library Week all over India Since 1968 and various programs are organized to let the public know about the libraries and boost to promote the reading habits.

National Library Week is an annual celebration highlighting the valuable role of libraries, librarians, and library workers who plays in transforming lives and strengthening our communities. National Library Week celebration is a boost to promote the reading habits among the students. 

Andhra Pradesh Library Association organized an All-India Library Meeting on 12 November 1912 in Madras. This meeting led to the forming of Indian Library Association. Later ILA declared 14 November as National Library Day. Since 1968, 14–20 November has been celebrated as National Library Week all over India and various programs are organized to let the public know about the libraries.

"कठिन शब्द खोज" गतिविधि

पीएम श्री केंद्रीय विद्यालय पुस्तकालय , गढ़वा में आयोजित "कठिन शब्द खोज" गतिविधि सफल रही। इससे छात्रों में पठन रुचि, जागरूकता तथा भाषा के प्रति प्रेम को बढ़ावा मिला। समाचार पत्र आधारित इस "शब्द खोज" गतिविधि का उद्देश्य छात्रों की शब्दावली, त्वरित पठन क्षमता और समाचार पत्र के प्रति रुचि को बढ़ावा देना था। साथ ही, इसका लक्ष्य छात्रों को सूचना स्रोतों की पहचान और तर्कशक्ति के विकास की दिशा में प्रेरित करना था।इस गतिविधि का मुख्य उद्देश्य छात्रों की शब्दावली, वर्तनी, पठन कौशल तथा पुस्तकालय के संसाधनों की जानकारी बढ़ाना था, ताकि वे सीखने की प्रक्रिया को खेल के माध्यम से रोचक बना सकें।

1. 1. 12 अगस्त को भारत में 'राष्ट्रीय पुस्तकालयाध्यक्ष दिवस' (National Librarian’s Day) के रूप में मनाया जाता है, यह पुस्तकालय विज्ञान के राष्ट्रीय प्रोफेसर डॉ. एस. आर. रंगनाथन (1892-1972) की स्मृति में मनाया जाता है, जिन्होंने भारत में पुस्तकालय विकास का नेतृत्व किया। उनकी जीवनी निम्नलिखित है-

   परिचय:

   डॉ. एस. आर. रंगनाथन भारत के महान पुस्तकालय वैज्ञानिक माने जाते हैं। उन्हें "पुस्तकालय विज्ञान का जनक" (Father of Library Science in India) कहा जाता है। उन्होंने भारत में आधुनिक पुस्तकालय प्रणाली की नींव रखी और पुस्तकालय विज्ञान को एक विधिवत शैक्षणिक विषय के रूप में स्थापित किया।

   प्रारंभिक जीवन और शिक्षा:

   रंगनाथन का जन्म तमिलनाडु के एक ब्राह्मण परिवार में हुआ था। उन्होंने प्रारंभिक शिक्षा स्थानीय विद्यालयों में प्राप्त की और फिर मद्रास (अब चेन्नई) के प्रेसिडेंसी कॉलेज से गणित में स्नातक और स्नातकोत्तर की डिग्री प्राप्त की। वे गणित के अध्यापक बने लेकिन बाद में उनका झुकाव पुस्तकालय विज्ञान की ओर हुआ।

   पुस्तकालय विज्ञान में योगदान:

   1924 में रंगनाथन को मद्रास विश्वविद्यालय का पुस्तकालयाध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया गया। इसके लिए उन्हें इंग्लैंड जाकर लाइब्रेरी साइंस की ट्रेनिंग लेनी पड़ी। वहां उन्होंने ब्रिटिश पुस्तकालय प्रणाली का अध्ययन किया और लौटकर भारत में कई नवाचार किए।

   उनका सबसे प्रसिद्ध योगदान है:

   1. पुस्तकालय विज्ञान के पाँच नियम (Five Laws of Library Science):

   1. पुस्तकों का उपयोग करें। (Books are for use.)

   2. हर पाठक के लिए पुस्तक। (Every reader his/her book.)

   3. हर पुस्तक के लिए पाठक। (Every book its reader.)

   4. समय और श्रम की बचत करें। (Save the time of the reader.)

   5. पुस्तकालय एक जीवित निकाय है। (The library is a growing organism.)

   2. कॉलोन क्लासिफिकेशन (Colon Classification):

   यह एक वैज्ञानिक विधि है जिससे पुस्तकें विषय के अनुसार वर्गीकृत की जाती हैं। यह एक जटिल लेकिन लचीली प्रणाली है जो समय के साथ पुस्तकालयों में बहुत उपयोगी साबित हुई।

   अन्य योगदान:

   • भारत में पुस्तकालय शिक्षा को बढ़ावा देना

   • मद्रास विश्वविद्यालय में लाइब्रेरी साइंस की पढ़ाई शुरू कराना

   • अनेक ग्रंथ और शोध-पत्र प्रकाशित करना (60+ पुस्तकें और 200 से अधिक लेख)

   • इंडियन लाइब्रेरी एसोसिएशन की स्थापना में योगदान

   सम्मान:

   • 1957 में उन्हें पद्म श्री पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया।

   • अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर भी उनके योगदान को सराहा गया।

   • भारत में 12 अगस्त को "राष्ट्रीय पुस्तकालय दिवस" (National Library Day) के रूप में मनाया जाता है, जो उनके जन्मदिवस (9 अगस्त) के निकट रखा गया है।

   निधन:

   डॉ. एस. आर. रंगनाथन का निधन 27 सितंबर 1972 को हुआ, लेकिन उनका कार्य आज भी पुस्तकालय विज्ञान की नींव है।
